Pilcrow Press makes books and art. We are a Santa Barbara-based independent publisher of non-fiction and art books.

The pilcrow has been used as long as humans have been writing. It can be traced alongside the human narrative—through ancient Aramaic, Latin and Greek, to the printing press, to contemporary typography. 

Publishing magazines and monoliths—our projects are a radical celebration of a range of topics, periods and sensibilities. Pilcrow books are a full-body experience, serving all the senses. Our books exist in an unbound world, with stories and senses expanding beyond their end pages.
